Isn't it wonderful when you go to the mailbox and are delightfully surprised?
Jake and I had ordered an art print from friend and fellow illustrator Ward Jenkins to give as a Christmas present. I can't post a picture of the print here, unfortunately, because I don't want to chance the person who's getting the print viewing my blog and seeing their Christmas gift early. But... you can still visit Ward's website and get an idea for his style.
Anyway, I got a notice that we'd received a package, so I went to pick it up, and when the lady handed it to me, I actually laughed.
How often do you get mail that looks like this?
I know, it's really only one little illustration on the side there, and a couple of thought bubbles (I erased out the addresses for the pictures), but it makes a big difference, doesn't it?
It had me smiling.
And then I smiled again when I turned it over...
Another little guy, peeking out at me.
Fun, fun.
I love getting happy mail. Such a pleasant change from bills.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
oh I love real letters too, what a nice envelope!
Isn't it wonderful? Glad you all agree with me! Thanks for the sweet comments - I LOVE getting them!
So glad you enjoyed the artwork! I do it on every single package I ship out. I call that little guy on the front "the dreamer." Hip-hop dude on the back sometimes changes from package to package, but he's always happy that you've finally received the print(s) you've been waiting for.
