IF: PHENOMENON

You've probably come to expect this from me every sixth day of the week, and yep, today is no exception...

The theme for this week, I thought, was "prehistoric", and Jake did a really awesome image for that, which I was looking forward to showing off today.
However, it would seem that perhaps I got my weeks mixed up or something because, as it turns out, the theme for this week was "phenomenon".

But not to worry, though, friends. Not to worry. Jake did an equally awesome image for the "phenomenon" theme.
Check it out.

Phenomenon, Jake Page

I like the use of primary colors in this illustration, toned down with the gray. And I love the sparkly individual raindrops you can see within the downpour (you can view these better in the bigger version). And, of course, I like the way the image starts to tell you a little story - you get a pretty good idea of what this guy's life is like! A phenomenon none of us envy, I'm sure.

The winner of today's Illustration Friday theme, Ori Toor, went a little more abstract in his approach. I think it's a really cool image, too, and it's done with sharpie on one of the walls in his house!

Phenomenon, Ori Toor

In fact, speaking of phenomenons, you should really check out Ori Toor's blog. His entire house is a phenomenon! According to his website, he and two other friends "moved into a slowly crumbling two story house in the nice part of Tel Aviv. During the next four months they will be painting, drawing and writing all over the walls while documenting the process." How crazy is that, right? Definitely check it out!

And enjoy your weekend, everyone!
It's Friday!!
